Scott's practice focuses on tax and estate planning, probate and estate administration, elder and disability law, corporate and business law, including corporations, limited liability companies, succession planning, sale and purchase of assets, stock, and membership interests, and non-profit (501(c)(3)) organizations, as well as guardianship and conservatorship matters and special needs trust preparation for the incapacitated and their families. Scott represents a wide array of businesses in industries including construction, property development and management, real estate, retail, manufacturing, insurance, IT, and dentistry and medicine. He advises businesses and individuals on employment law issues, including noncompetition agreements and severance packages, and represents sellers, purchasers, and developers in residential and commercial real estate transactions and related issues such as construction and permanent financing, contracts, covenants, easements, and leases. In 2010, Virginia Super Lawyers magazine recognized Scott as a Rising Star®. Scott is a member and immediate past-President of the Huguenot Trail Rotary Club in Midlothian, Virginia. He also teaches Law Skills (legal research, writing and argument) at the University of Richmond School.
