Sarah Spiers received her Juris Doctor degree from William & Mary School of Law. While in law school, Sarah earned Honors for excellence in research, writing and analysis. Sarah was admitted to practice law in Virginia in 2006. Sarah joined CowanGates PC after serving as a Clerk for the Department of Justice, U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Virginia. Prior to attending law school, Sarah worked as a paralegal in Atlanta, Georgia. Sarah is a 1997 graduate of Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where she earned a B.A. in History, magna cum laude with final honors, and received the Almont Lindsay Award for Excellence in History. In addition to her law practice, Sarah continues to serve as Executive Director of a non-profit association, Attorneys for Family-Held Enterprises, a post she has held since 2000. Sarah maintains a general practice with an emphasis in commercial and residential real estate transactions, real estate litigation, property rights and contracts. Sarah is a native of Staunton, Virginia.
