Attorney Profiles

Frank Cowan is a founding member of CowanGates PC.  He has extensive trial and litigation experience, including personal injury, commercial litigation, zoning, land use, insurance defense, and family law, and frequently serves as a mediator and arbitrator.  Because of his successful legal practice, he was selected by his peers as a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and recognized in the following publications:  The Best Lawyers in America, Virginia Business Legal Elite, and Super Lawyers.

Mr. Cowan is a graduate of Virginia Tech and the University of Richmond, T. C. Williams School of Law. He is an avid supporter of Virginia Tech and serves on the Board of the Virginia Tech Athletic Fund. He was selected as a member of Virginia Tech's UT Prosim Society.

He serves on the Board of the Midlothian YMCA and previously served on the Planning Commission of Chesterfield County, Virginia. He served two terms as President of Salisbury Country Club where he is a member and avid golfer. He and other CowanGates attorneys volunteer regularly as Eager Beaver Readers at a Richmond elementary school.
